In my unprofessional opinion I would remove the piercing completely before the keloid/irritation bumps become permanent. Id still clean it as if it was a brand new piercing and then Id wait for the holes to completely close and the bumps to go down and then I would go to a different piercer and get it redone with a titanium bar.
